    The path that took Furetank’s business controller Wassim Salma from a war-torn Syria to a new life in Gothenburg is quite a story. Demonstrating for democratic rights he was forced to flee his home country, facing a very uncertain future. Little did he know that his job, branch of industry and hometown would all be mirrored in Sweden a few years later.

    Furetank turns the former office into a maritime educational centre on Donsö outside Gothenburg: a state-of-the-art ship simulator complex for training, assessment and certification. From summer 2023 it will be available for the entire shipping cluster on Donsö as well as external actors.

  • Furetank pilots waste-based renewable fuel for Equinor

    The dual-fuel tanker Fure Valö has performed the first voyage on a new Equinor fuel blend containing used cooking oil. It reduces greenhouse gas emissions while, judging from the first test indications, maintaining the same high performance as conventional marine gasoil.

    Spectacularly moored on the Thames in downtown London, Fure Vinga opened up to 500 invited visitors as the first intermediate tanker in the world which will reach UN 2050 climate targets for shipping. 170 IMO delegates, meeting in London to advance global restrictions of greenhouse gas emissions, came onboard to see how the Swedish shipping company Furetank has turned their targets into practice.
